We sincerely desire for you and your family to feel at home. Hospice House has been a part of serving Reno County and the surrounding community since November 2002.

Telephone Services: In-coming telephone calls are made through the nurses' desk. Calls cannot be made directly to the rooms. Upon, request you calls can be transferred into client's room. The telephone number of Hospice House is 620-669-3773.

Visitation: Visitors of all ages are encouraged 24 hours a day seven days a week. The comfort of your loved one and that of other clients makes it necessary for children to be supervised at all times. Families are welcome to stay overnight with their loved one. Understandably, when clients receive personal care, families may be asked to leave the room. The staff values the dignity of clients entrusted to our care.

Parking Area: Parking is available for family and visitors directly in front of the House. The area behind the House is for staff and volunteers.

Security: The entrance from the foyer may be locked for security purposes. A doorbell in the foyer alerts staff or volunteers of your presence. Safety and security of clients and families are very important to us. Security cameras monitor all public entrances of Hospice House.

Personalizing Room: Your personal touch in the client's room is encouraged. You may bring items to help your loved one feel at home. We would ask that you would not add any new holes to the walls.

Kitchen/Dining Area and Snacks: Your use of the large kitchen and dining area are encouraged. The refrigerator, range, and cabinets may be used for food items. Labeling refrigerated items with the name of the client is required by the state. Dated items in the refrigerator should be discarded after one week. Cleaning the kitchen area after using will provide an inviting appearance for others. The agency and staff is not responsible for lost items. Snacks and drinks are available in the Clean Holding room located on the west wing. Make yourself at home and prepare for other guests just as you would at home.

Laundry/Shower: A washer/dryer, located in the Clean Holding, is available for visitors' and clients' use. A shower is available, in the staff restroom, for families while staying at the House.

Temperature Controls: A temperature control, overhead fan, and wall units work together to create a comfortable climate. The staff will be pleased to set thermostats in the large living room thereby assuring your comfort.

Smoking/Alcohol: The Hospice House is a smoke free facility. A designated smoking area is located on the west side of the building beyond the double doors. A security code is located on the south wall beside the doors. See staff members for additional information and assistance.

Pets: Some clients enjoy the opportunity to see their own pets. Additionally, our agency has a pet therapy program. Pets visit the House with their owners once weekly, or more often if requested. Proof of current vaccinations is required for pets to visit the House.

Fire/Tornado: Fire extinguishers and exits are located throughout the House. Please be aware of the nearest to your loved ones room. A tornado shelter is located in the West Hall. All clients are required to be in the safe hall when a tornado warning has been issued.
